Gallipolis Ferry is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Mason County, West Virginia, United States. It is situated on the west bank of the Ohio River, opposite the city of Gallipolis in Ohio. The population of Gallipolis Ferry was 817 as per the 2010 census.
The area was originally settled by Native Americans, primarily the Shawnee and Delaware tribes, and was later explored by French trappers and traders during the 18th century. The name "Gallipolis" is French for "City of the Gauls".
Today, Gallipolis Ferry is a small community with a rural atmosphere. It is known for its farming and agricultural industries, as well as its scenic views of the Ohio River. The area is also popular for outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking.
